Este artigo divulga e comenta um manuscrito de Hugo Schuchardt, até agora inédito, acerca dos sistemas verbais das variedades de Crioulo Caboverdiano. Anexa-se a este artigo uma transcrição e imagens do manuscrito. O artigo tenta dar resposta a perguntas relativas à originalidade, organização, fontes e período de produção do texto de Schuchardt. O autor conclui terem sido razões de probidade científica a impedir que Schuchardt publicasse o seu texto, o que evitou certamente que se difundissem entre a comunidade científica certos erros das suas fontes. Por outro lado, por essa razão, ficaram também por conhecer, por muito tempo, algumas descobertas e intuições brilhantes do fundador dos Estudos Crioulos acerca dos crioulos de Cabo Verde e do Atlântico. O artigo exemplifica os ditos erros das fontes, mas também as descobertas e opiniões de Schuchardt.

This article informs and comments on an as yet unpublished manuscript by Hugo Schuchardt concerning the verb systems of the Capeverdian creole varieties. A transcription and images of this manuscript are attached to this article. The article tries to answer questions pertaining to the originality, organization, sources, and the time of writing of Schuchardt’s text. The author of the article concludes that it was reasons of scientific probity which finally kept Schuchardt from publishing his text. This certainly prevented the spreading of some errors in his sources in the scientific community. On the other hand, some brilliant discoveries and intuitions concerning Capeverdian and Atlantic creoles of the founding father of creole studies therefore remained unknown for a long time. Examples of such errors in the sources as well as such discoveries and intuitions of Schuchardt are given.
